Crunchy pretzel rods dipped in smooth white chocolate and decorated with red, white, and blue sprinkles, perfect for patriotic celebrations and quick festive snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • About 20 pretzel rods, plain and unsalted if possible
  • 12 ounces (340 grams) white chocolate chips or melting wafers
  • Red and blue sprinkles (nonpareils or small jimmies)
  • Pinch of sea salt flakes (optional but recommended)
  • Wax paper or parchment paper for setting
  • Optional: A few drops of red or blue food coloring for tinting chocolate

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with wax paper or parchment paper.
  2. Melt 12 ounces of white chocolate chips or melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth and silky. Alternatively, melt using a double boiler.
  3. Optional: Divide melted chocolate into separate bowls and add a few drops of red or blue gel food coloring for tinting.
  4. Hold a pretzel rod by one end and dip about 3/4 of the rod into the melted white chocolate. Slowly lift and gently shake off excess chocolate.
  5. Immediately sprinkle red and blue sprinkles over the wet chocolate coating. Mix colors or alternate for variety.
  6. Optionally sprinkle a pinch of sea salt flakes over the sprinkles.
  7. Place dipped rods on the lined baking sheet and let cool at room temperature until chocolate hardens, about 20-30 minutes. To speed up, refrigerate for 10-15 minutes.
  8. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.

Notes

Melt chocolate slowly and stir frequently to avoid seizing. Keep water away from chocolate. Add sprinkles immediately after dipping. Use sea salt flakes for flavor balance. Store at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Avoid refrigeration to prevent chocolate sweating.
