easy 2 ingredient pizza chips - featured image

A quick and easy snack made by baking pita bread pieces topped with pizza sauce until crispy. Perfect for a tasty, comforting bite with minimal ingredients and effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 45 pieces pita bread (regular or whole wheat, pocket style preferred)
  • ½ cup (120 ml) pizza sauce or marinara sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Tear 4-5 pita breads into roughly 2-inch (5 cm) chip-sized pieces, keeping pieces uniform for even baking.
  3. Spread the pita pieces out in a single layer on the lined baking sheet, avoiding overlap.
  4. Using a small spoon or butter knife, spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over each pita chip, covering the surface but not overloading.
  5. Optional: Sprinkle a light layer of mozzarella, parmesan, or Italian seasoning over the sauce.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, checking after 8 minutes until edges turn golden brown and crisp but not burnt.
  7. Let the pizza chips cool for a few minutes on the tray before transferring to a plate or bowl to crisp up further.

Notes

Spread sauce thinly to avoid sogginess. If chips feel soft after baking, return to oven for 2-3 minutes. Use room-temperature pita for best crispness. Tearing pita by hand creates better texture than cutting.
