A quick and easy fall treat featuring juicy grapes coated in creamy caramel with a hint of cinnamon and optional sea salt for a perfect sweet and salty bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups seedless red or green grapes, washed and dried completely
  • 1012 caramel candy squares (e.g., Werther’s Original)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream or whole milk (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch or two of flaky sea salt (optional)
  • Wooden skewers or toothpicks for dipping and serving

Instructions

  1. Rinse 2 cups (about 300g) of seedless grapes and dry them thoroughly with paper towels. Thread 3-4 grapes onto each wooden skewer for easy dipping and serving. (Prep time: 5 minutes)
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine 10-12 caramel candy squares with 2 tablespoons unsalted butter. Stir gently as the caramel begins to soften.
  3. Once mostly melted, add 2 tablespoons heavy cream or whole milk to thin the caramel slightly, stirring until smooth and glossy. Watch closely to avoid burning. (Cook time: 5-7 minutes)
  4. Stir in 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon into the caramel mixture and blend evenly. (1 minute)
  5. Holding the skewer or grape, dip each grape into the warm caramel, coating it completely. Let excess caramel drip back into the pan.
  6. Place the coated grapes on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt or chopped nuts immediately after dipping if desired. (10 minutes)
  7. Allow the caramel to set at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes until slightly firm but still sticky and chewy. Do not refrigerate. (20 minutes)
  8. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 12 hours.

Notes

Ensure grapes are completely dry before dipping to help caramel stick. Use low heat to melt caramel slowly to avoid burning. Work quickly when dipping as caramel hardens as it cools. Avoid refrigeration to keep caramel chewy. Optionally sprinkle flaky sea salt or chopped nuts immediately after dipping for added texture and flavor.
