These Cozy French Dip Sliders feature tender roast beef and melty Swiss cheese on soft slider buns, served with a rich homemade au jus for dipping. Perfect for quick, comforting meals or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Soft slider buns (Hawaiian rolls or classic dinner rolls), about 8
  • 1 pound thinly sliced deli roast beef or leftover roast beef
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Fresh thyme or parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Let reduce slightly for 5-7 minutes until flavorful and slightly thickened. Adjust seasoning if needed.
  3. Slice slider buns in half horizontally, keeping top and bottom attached if preferred. Layer bottom buns with about 2 ounces of roast beef and a slice of Swiss cheese.
  4. Place top halves on sliders and brush tops generously with melted butter.
  5. Cover baking dish loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 5-7 minutes until cheese is melted and tops are golden brown.
  6. Pour warm au jus into small bowls for dipping. Garnish sliders with fresh thyme or parsley if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

Use low-sodium beef broth to control salt levels. For thicker au jus, add a teaspoon of cornstarch mixed with cold water while simmering. If roast beef slices are thick, warm them slightly in the au jus before assembling. Brush buns with melted butter for a golden crust. Avoid overbaking to keep beef tender and buns soft. Leftover sliders can be refrigerated unbaked and baked later with butter added just before baking.
